I am not a professional or a doctor. Please seek a healh professional.
I also do not own any pictures or content, unless stated otherwise.

This is my lifestyle.

My lifestyle is quite different than I’ve seen from others which is why I decided to create a page that motivates and encourages me to do well.

Why this lifestyle?
I started eating healthy and exercising because of many many reasons. 1. My boyfriend. He is the healthiest and the fittest person I know. He is on and off vegan and raw and he taught me a lot about being healthy and fit. Because of him, I started thinking about my lifestyle.
2. I have high cholesterol that I know will end up bad if I keep on going with the way I was eating and not exercising. My family does not have the greatest health record and I want to reverse that.
3. For as long as I can remember, I have always been weak and fragile. The littlest things would hurt me. I want to become stronger and not get hurt so much.

Food
NOW: I am vegan.
Pre-March 2013: I am mostly pescaterian. I do not eat meat but I eat fish and shellfish (some, because I am allergic). I control my dairy intake; it is all about moderation. I usually stay away from eggs but limit milk and cheese (I really like cheese). I always eat clean; eating more whole foods (like fruits and veggies) and little to no processed/man made food.

Drinks
I only mostly Drink water. I almost always will have fruit or a homemade juice in the morning. I choose tea over coffee. And I haven’t had soda for a long time now. Soda was the first thing to be cut out of my diet, even before I thought about eating healthy.

How I Keep Track and Maintain
I pay attention to the ingredients on food products: no high-fructose corn syrup, no added sugar and more natural and organic ingredients. I try to buy natural, raw or organic. My mindset when grocery shopping is: if it is still good to eat for more than 2 weeks, it’s probably bad for you.
I have decided I will do a cleanse once or twice a year. I did the master cleanse which was awful but completely cleared out my system. Read about my experience here. Personally, I get more out of doing something like that to reset and cleanse out my system.

Eating out
I am more relaxed when eating out. I will always stay away from meat but I eat as healthy as I can. I will always ask for water because it is safe and free. I obviously do better when I am eating with my boyfriend.

Fitness
I do yoga 3-5 times a week. I try to run or do some sort of cardio at least once a week.

Recommendations
Zombies, Run!
iPhone app that motivates me to run. I hate running and this app is awesome. It’s basically a running integrated game where zombies chase you. It is $7.99 in the app store but I think it’s totally worth it.

If you are visiting in Northern California
The Sunflower Center in Petaluma
They serve nutritious food. Affordable, delicious, organic, vegan, raw, vegetarian and cooked options. It’s super delicious. Their raw cheesecake is to die for. It’s in Petaluma off of Hwy 101.

Sunflower Natural Food Restaurant near Sacramento
Super delicious. It has a drive in feel. It is ALWAYS busy, so be ready to wait for your food for more than half an hour because this place just got Zagat rated or something. It is in Fair Oaks. I suggest their veggie burgers, super delish!

Vitality Bowls in San Ramon & Pleasanton
I will forever love Vitality Bowls. They specialize in their Acai bowls which are so good and nutrient filled. I can’t even explain to you how good it is. I would have this everyday if I could (I can’t because I don’t live close anymore). They also have paninis but why would you get a panini at an Acai bowl place.

The Plum Cafe and Bakery in Sacramento
The Plum Cafe is freaking delicious. I went with my boyfriend for our two year anniversary. Portions are huge, so keep that in mind. I was stuffed. I got the California burger and it was soooo good and the fries were just the best.

zpizza
I am pretty sure zpizza is located everywhere, I think. They can make any pizza vegan. There are only a few pizza’s they can’t like the Thai because the sauce is milk based. My favorite is the Casblanca and the Tuscan. They use Daiya cheese. I usually get this when I go out with friends since it caters to a lot of people’s lifestyles.

Get Fit Yoga in Dublin
This is the yoga place I went during spring break. It is in Dublin (East Bay Area). Right now they have a 10 for $10 deal and a 30 for $30 deal. They have a mix of advanced and beginners yoga classes. I suggest starting off with the Hatha Flow yoga and NOT do Bikram unless you are up for the challenge (and like a pool of sweat).

Bliss Fit
This is actually my current yoga teacher’s facebook page. If you ever get the chance to take a yoga class with her, do it. She is amazing and positive. I have taken so many yoga classes and she is definitely my favorite.
